Front-End Architecture at Web Visions 2006

Friday April 28, 2006 / 0 Comments

Web Visions 2006 is right around the corner, and those of you who don’t have it on your radar might be missing out on what’s turned out to be a really great conference. The list of speakers includes the likes of Jared Spool, Hillman Curtis, Luke Williams, Dan Cederholm, Mike Davidson, D. Keith Robinson, Nick Finck, and many more.

While I had a great time at SXSW, I’m really looking forward to attending a smaller conference and having more time and opportunities to chat with people outside of the panels and presentations. It’s shaping up to be a very promising conference. I strongly suggest swinging by the Web Visions site and checking it out.

Additionally, I’m even more excited that I’ll be presenting about Front-End Architecture. I’ll be going deeper about why it’s important as well as some tips and techniques for handling it correctly. I’ll be discussing flexibility, easier maintenance, clean seperation of the various layers, accessibility, AJAX, and more. Regardless of what we’d like to think, it’s all inter-related and increasingly complex. Cobbling together some CSS, markup, scripting, and other technologies just won’t cut it anymore.

I’ll also be showing code samples from professional companies that are overlooking even the simplest enhancements and highlighting some trulely elegant implementations of cutting edge technologies as well as illustrating the long-term value of doing it right. It should be a great time, and I hope to see you there.
